Hi, I’m Bonnie-Jean—a South African Christian worship artist, singer-songwriter, author, and creative with one simple passion: to lead people into the presence of Jesus through authentic worship, honest storytelling, and music that points hearts back to Him.
I was born in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and raised in a home where ministry wasn’t just something we did—it was our way of life. My parents were pastors, and some of my earliest memories are of falling asleep beneath church pews while my mother led worship and my father preached the Gospel. Looking back now, I can see that God was already writing my story long before I understood His plans for my life.

I will never forget the morning of 1 January 2017.
As I spent time with the Lord, I clearly heard Him speak to my heart: “You are going to record your first album.”
I sat and cried.
Recording an album had been a dream hidden deep inside my heart for many years. Life had happened, circumstances had changed, and somewhere along the way I had quietly laid that dream down. But God hadn’t forgotten it.
As I read Isaiah 43:10—“You are My witnesses…”—I sensed Him saying, “Now is your time. You will be My witness, even to the ends of the earth.”
I had absolutely no idea how it would happen. Recording an album requires resources I simply didn’t have, but I chose to say yes before I knew the details.
And God did what only He could do.
Step by step, miracle after miracle, He provided everything that was needed. Every door opened at exactly the right time, every provision came when it was needed, and what once seemed impossible became reality.
That’s why I called my first album My Reward. It wasn’t simply an album—it was a testimony of God’s faithfulness. It was a reminder that His promises never expire, even when we think we’ve missed our moment.
But my story didn’t end there.
Creating spaces where people encounter Jesus.
I believe worship is far more than music—it is an invitation into the presence of God. Every gathering is an opportunity for lives to be transformed, hearts to be restored, and people to encounter the love, peace, and power of Jesus Christ.
For more than thirty years, I have had the privilege of serving the local church through worship ministry, leading worship, mentoring worship teams, training musicians, and teaching the biblical foundations of worship. Whether ministering in a church service, women’s conference, worship night, retreat, or intimate gathering, my desire is always the same: to create an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit is free to move and where people leave having encountered God, not simply attended an event.
